Next Year's Quiz Diary Dates!

THE WINNER OF THE 'STEPS' COMPETITION...
We ran a competition to guess how many steps our lovely volunteer, Lucy, would take during the European Quizzing Championships.

It's a busy weekend and she walked a whopping 50,126 steps!

So, congratulations to Portugal's Jorge Paramos, whose guess of 50,001 steps was closest. Jorge wins FREE entry to the Quiz Olympiad worth 375 euros.
THE WINNER OF THE 'AMERICAS' COMPETITION...
At the Americas Quizzing Championships, we ran a competition to see who could correctly identify the most images in this montage.

Four people got them all right and so we drew a winner from them. Congratulations to Cliff Galiher, who wins FREE entry to the Trivia Nationals, where we are delighted to tell you we will be holding the next Americas Quizzing Championships!
We were delighted to present another quiz by Ewan McNaught, who delivered a splendid set, full of great questions that allowed the top players to excel, there being some tremendous scores this month, in the UK and abroad.

We had two maximum 30+ genre scores, and plenty more of 29+, a score of 29.5 in Art, Culture, History (ACH) being only good enough for a share of the silver medal. So, it’s a shout out to Mark Grant for a score of 30.5 in ACH, and to newly crowned European Quizzing Champion Ian Bayley for his 30.5 in Physical World.

Also worthy of special mention was Max Fitz-James who beat Kevin Ashman into the Bronze Medal slot in ‘Physical World’ and to Perica Živanovic of Croatia who beat everyone to take Gold in ‘Sport & Games’.

We also had 87 people in all through the milestone 100 point score barrier, slightly less than a third of all competitors in a field that numbered over 300. Well done all.

We heartily congratulate Pat Gibson who climbed back to the top of the field with an incredible score of 142.4. Runner up, and just behind Pat, was Kevin Ashman (141.5). Mark Grant was third (140.1), with Didier Bruyère (137.6) and Paul Sinha (136.2) completing the top five. A special mention goes to Tore Heliks Van Dahl of Norway who came 10th overall with a score of 129.1.
