Money to the Masses

Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week

This past week was Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week and as many followers of Money to the Masses will know (but for those of you who don't) my brother and I suffer from Crohn's Disease and over the years we have clocked up several months in hospital, taken dozens of different medications, had more surgical procedures than we care to recall and had over 5m of small intestine removed.

Crohn’s Disease is a condition that causes inflammation of any part of the digestive system. It is a chronic condition which means that it is ongoing and life-long. You can have periods of good health (remission), as well as times when symptoms are more active (relapses or flare-ups). Symptoms vary from person to person but typically include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, tiredness and fatigue, feeling generally unwell, mouth ulcers, loss of appetite, weight loss and anaemia.
⠀
Next week Justin and I are giving a brief talk at a Crohn's & Colitis charity carol concert in St Albans about our ongoing battle with Crohn's Disease. If you are in the area and would like to come along we'd love to see you there. Full details of the event can be found here.
Enjoy this week's newsletter.
