Marion Glidden met John Osier in 1946. She was a teenager, proud to be working as an usher at The Waldo. It was her first job and the theatre was within walking distance of her home. One evening, John came on his own to the theatre so watch a movie. Men were not supposed to be ushered to their seats by staff, only women, couples, and families, but Marion decided to usher him anyway. He waited for her after the film, introduced himself and they talked for a while. When he returned later that week, he offered to walk her home and she accepted. So began a courtship that would lead to a 67-year marriage.

It was wonderful welcoming Marion back to the theatre after many years, to reminisce about her romance and about her experience working a The Waldo. We also loved seeing these photos of John after hearing so much about him!
