Below you will find a selection of just a few of the initiatives supported by Norfolk's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Lorne Green in 2019.

JANUARY

This month saw PCC Lorne Green open a new Great Yarmouth support centre for survivors of sexual abuse.

FEBRUARY

February saw the launch of a new service for Norfolk scam victims. The 'Scams Prevention Service' was made possible thanks to a partnership between the PCC and the Norfolk and Suffolk Victim Care Service. Find out more>>
 

APRIL

The PCC's Youth Commission marked its two year anniversary in April. The 39-strong Commission has grown from strength to strength since its introduction to help shape policing in the county.

MAY

May saw the launch of a new suite of partnership projects to tackle serious violence in Norfolk by preventing the exploitation of young people by criminal gangs.

JUNE

National Volunteers Week took part in June and volunteer Eric Langford was recognised by PCC Lorne Green for his work as an Independent Custody Visitor as he clocked up an amazing 15 years in the role.

JULY

The PCC's young driver campaign #Impact, rounded off the academic year in July with a demonstration in the heart of Norwich attended by students from Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form and Jane Austen College.

JULY

July also saw the PCC hosting the county's first joint police and fire service question and answer session. The event was attended by more than 80 members of the public who were given the opportunity to ask questions related to both services.

SEPTEMBER

A scheme to help protect Norfolk's churches from the threat of lead theft was praised by the PCC in September as police figures showed a near 50 per cent fall in such crimes since its launch two years previously.

OCTOBER
 
Four powerful films highlighting different forms of domestic abuse were launched in the county in October thanks to backing by partners including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

NOVEMBER
 
In November the Police and Crime Commissioners for Norfolk and Suffolk awarded Victim Support a new three-year contract to help victims of crime cope and recover from their experiences.

DECEMBER
 
This month saw the launch of a partnership to support victims of human trafficking and modern-day slavery in the county thanks to funding from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk.
