Dear Friends,
There is no particularly exciting news about the Drill Hall so this update is really an excuse for wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

To recap.
Rock Fish put in a planning application on August 16th 2019 which was very short on detail. Since then they have put in an amendment ( Oct 8th) showing where the extractor would be placed, at the rear of the hall on the Ham side. Yesterday I received notification that this amendment has been amended.

'Revised proposed elevation plan received PL08 Rev B to replace PL08. Proposal
description amended to add 'addition of new flue'.'

The reference for the application is 19/1775/FUL and you can access details from the documents tab on this page

Or see the new flue plan here

The flue is now far less obtrusive externally but may be more obtrusive internally or have required loss of internal features. There is no way of telling as there isn't a new internal plan.

I assume that the Planning Officer will now ask them for such a view. My hope is that this is all taking such a long time because the Planning Officers are making sure that the building is suitable for its position, but you could always ask your Councillor what is going on.

There is no indication of when this may come before the Development Management Committee but the next meeting is on the 7th Jan and it is not on the Agenda

Of course, planning applications they don't consider contentious don't go before the Committee!

Kind regards, Mary
