Christmas Gifts!
Dear <<First Name>>, It's Christmas, a time to think of Jesus, the most wonderful gift we have ever received! Now friends with God, we are honored and humbled, and grateful!
We visited Kansas City for All Nations' "Celebrate" evening. Such a time to reflect on the 32 people groups who are now getting to hear about Jesus for the first time ever. We rejoiced to think of the Gospel going to the least, the last, the lost. We also celebrated Thanksgiving with our kids, and what fun to think of all that we have been given. Brett's business keeps moving forward, with some new engagements shaping up for 2020. This is great for the company and for us as we serve the Lord. Debbie visited her mom to be there while mom recovered from a medical scare - she's recovered well. And then there's Christmas Eve tonight, and Christmas Day tomorrow, celebrating with many of our children and families. Which brings us to gifts - including some news about us!
The Lord has given us some new gifts, and we want to share these with you.
- Our Apartment is feeling more like home. This is a praise. It's not perfect, but the Lord is using us, right here. Our Small Group meets in the home behind us, and we are getting to meet the neighbors. May the Lord work!
- Our passion for going to the nations has included the desire to help younger workers thrive. We have always planned to come alongside workers, encourage, mentor, coach, teach and see them succeed. All Nations has begun using us to coach field workers, regularly, even from our apartment in Marion. What was a desire is now becoming a fulfilling ministry even now.
- Our gifts of leadership and teaching would be great on the field, and we long to be there. But even now, we are stepping up to help lead training as All Nations works with churches in Iowa. We thought this would be in the future, on the field, but the Lord is using us now.
- Our present impact now includes several couples and single workers in Europe, Africa and Asia, and locally in our own area too. We had longed to see the Lord work, and He is doing so, even now.
To us, these are gifts from the Lord. We still plan on serving full time overseas, just as soon as the Lord frees us up to go. But now, to also see Him groom us, prepare us, and use us, we are humbled and excited. Suddenly the delays in His taking us overseas begin to make sense. He is right on time.
