We meet at the James Lorah Auditorium on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30pm. The meetings are free and open to all. Our speaker this month is Jenny Schaeffer.
Jenny is primarily a self taught artist who works in a variety of mediums. Her transient life has given Jenny a wide perspective of subject matter which she uses as inspiration for her artwork, ranging from country landscapes to sophisticated abstract works. She has been a professional artist for over thirty years and has painted many commissioned works. Her artwork is included in a variety of both public and private collections across the United States and Canada.
Her recent work has been focusing on the use of alcohol ink and mixed media to produce abstract work inspired by the natural world around us. Alcohol inks are an exciting new medium in the art world that allow a free flow of expression with a variety of techniques. Artists who specialize in alcohol inks have developed styles that range, from representational art that captures the natural world, to abstract art specializing in serene designs. Jenny will be demonstrating the use of these inks and showing how to use them to best effect.
