January 2020 Dance update

Hello fellow dancer,
With the imminent ending time of the year, looking back to what we've been through and looking forward to what we would like to come has fresh start potential.

A few, subjective, 2019 highlights that come to mind as I write this email are: the Collective becoming an official C.I.C (Community Interest Company); as well as our regular teachers, the various guests we had this year; the impact of XR; the almost doubling in numbers coming dancing since the summer; the condition of the floor with lows and finally, finally having positive input from the Town Council hearing our requests for a better cleaning standard.
I am also with a cumulation of many remarks made to me over the year of how important some feel the Monday night dance space is for their well-being.

What are your memories of dancing over this last year? You can reply to me if you want to share them. To be more public about it you could join the Totnes Dance Collective Group on Facebook and share on there.
Equally, is there something you'd like to see us add in 2020?

Monday evenings - 7.30 start - £10:
(Civic Hall door is closed at 7.45pm)
December
30th - Robert with Music-Led Dance
January
6th - Rosie with Movement Medicine
13th - Leela with Soul Motion
20th - Robert with Music-Led Dance
27th - David with 5 Rhythms

Also check out the page that I've compiled: Other Dance Events.
It lists other dances held by Totnes Dance Collective teachers during January - link.

Dance etiquette:
A reminder, especially if you missed this is before, is to read the etiquette document giving guidelines of what we find works and supports our dance space.
This is available as a flyer on the front desk on Monday evenings. You can also see it now on the Totnes Dance Collective website at this link.

Finally, as the Civic Hall floor can be quite cold during winter, if, like me, your feet find this painful, it is OK to wear soft-soled shoes to dance in.

Thanks
Wishing you good dancing!
And a good beginning to your New Year.
Robert
