Day 2: The Costa amendment

Dear fellow EU citizen,

It's Boxing Day today, and we continue our 2019 #citizensrights retrospective with February.

Following the scrapping of the £65 fee, the3million and British in Europe were on a roll with the help of Alberto Costa MP.

In February 2019, the House of Commons unanimously passed the 'Costa Amendment', asking the Government to write to the European Commission to ring-fence our rights so our lives won't be at risk in case of a no-deal Brexit.

This was us celebrating with Alberto after the vote:

Till tomorrow!

Festive regards,

Nicolas

Important notice:

Next year will be the year of the activist. As Britain is set to disembark from the EU project, the need for people like you and me to raise our voice to defend our rights will become even more important.

Join the3million today for the price of a cup of tea a month, and support the rights of EU citizens in the UK.

In January, we will launch the 'This is our Home' Tour of Britain and I hope we will meet you along the way, either virtually or in person. Together, we will fight to change Settled Status from an application to a registration scheme and demand a physical document of the status for all, so not one EU citizen is left behind after Brexit.
