Where can I go for help when I’m ill in winter?

Cold weather can trigger or worsen health problems, so it’s important that you know where to go for help if you become unwell.

This winter, the NHS is running a campaign called ‘Help us help you’ to help people understand how to stay well during the winter and which services to use when they need support.

Take a look at the information below to find out which is the most appropriate service to meet your needs.

Healthy Wirral campaign continues in the New Year

This year, we partnered with NHS Wirral and embarked on a week-long Roadshow to spread the message about ‘Healthy Wirral’, a campaign that aims to inform people on the widespread changes being implemented by the NHS on how health and care services will start to be delivered over the next five years. We are now planning the second phase of the Healthy Wirral campaign and will be heading out on the road again in the New Year to keep up the conversation on “building a healthier Wirral for all”.

Council services information for Christmas 2019

Wirral Council has confirmed details of Christmas opening hours for key services. As in previous years, council staff have to take unpaid leave every year as part of budget saving measures. Taking these days at Christmas allows a number of council buildings to be closed, making savings of more than £1 million.
