Class of 2019 - Presentation Evening
On Friday 22 November Year 12 students, their families and the staff of JFSC came together at the Octagon Theatre at UWA for the 2019 Presentation Evening. Here we celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2019.
Thank you to Mr Phoenix, Ms Trees, Mrs Watson, Ms Silva and all the staff involved in ensuring the evening was successful and enjoyed by all. Thanks also to the newly elected 2020 Prefects for generously giving their time to assist on the night.

Class of 2019 Farwell Assembly
On Tuesday 22 October the College came together to farewell the Class of 2019. This was also a day of celebration as the Year 12s reflected on the last five years at JFSC and 12 years of schooling to date. College tackles hunger in Australia
This Winter the College community banded together and collected over 950 items for the 2019 Foodbank Schools Winter Appeal. These items combined equalled over 500kgs or over 900 meals! Read more...

College Community Share's the Dignity
From September to November this year the College has been collecting items for Share the Dignity. Share The Dignity collects thousands of personal hygiene products every year for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. Read more...

Year 6 Orientation Day 2019
On Monday 2 December the College hosted approximately 200 Year 6 students for Orientation Day. The day allowed students to have a taste of what the next six years of schooling have in store for them. Read more...

Music Students Excel at Festivals
Over the months of August and September, five different musical groups from the College performed in four different festivals. These groups practiced hard in the lead up to the festivals, rehearsing before and after school. The students all performed beautifully and represented our College in such a positive manner. On Thursday 19 September the College held its annual Senior Music Concert. On Wednesday 16 October, the first Wednesday of Term 4, we went off on the Primary School Tour. This is where some of our music ensembles travel to four local primary schools and perform some pieces to showcase both our music program, talent and let them enjoy some music. Read more...

Rockingham Cricket Carnival 2019
At the beginning of November, the Year 9 Cricketers made the annual pilgrimage south to take part in the Rockingham Cricket Carnival for 2019. This year nine schools from across the south of WA competed in this mixed format event (50 over and T20 games). It was an enjoyable but tough competition with both wins and losses for the JFSC Team. Students Host a High Tea
During this term three Year 10 Social Food classes have been working towards their big assessment for the unit, the High Tea.
Students had to plan, prepare and present a High Tea with both sweet and savoury options. Much effort was placed in planning and producing food, as well as the setting for such a social event and the results were very pleasing in each of the three classes. Read more...

State Solar Car Challenge 2019
On Tuesday 12 November 2019 seven JFSC Engineering Club teams participated in the Infinite Energy Solar Car Challenge for secondary students. On the 30 November to 1 December three teams from John Forrest Secondary College (Fulcrum – Year 12, Helios – Year 9, and Irrational Paper Gazelles- Year 7) competed in the Australian International Model Solar Challenge in Hobart. $20 Boss National Winner
This year was the second time that the JFSC Year 7 Enrichment program students participated in $20 Boss. When the projects were underway, Teacher Joh Gatti nominated four of the businesses into the State and Territory Awards for excellence. Salvos Christmas Appeal 2019
For the fifth year running the College community has come together to donate non-perishable items for the annual Salvos Christmas Appeal.

Academic Task Force - ATAR Head Start Program
The Head Start Program is specifically designed to pave the way for Year 11 and 12 school success. The courses preview important concepts, provide an overview of the syllabus for the student’s course of study, build confidence and provide an academic boost for the year ahead. They are also delivering their popular Study Skills programs where students can learn effective study methods, time management, goal setting, reading strategies and stress management techniques.
