The Power of Goal Setting!
To have a successful year, our goals should:
- Be congruent with our Life Mission.
- Obtain clarity about our Life Mission - know it by heart!
- Have a strong component of learning/growth.
- Be attached to a meaning higher than ourselves, contribution is essential to our happiness.
- Make us feel alive.
Clearly write:
- A list of your goals/outcomes - All that you want to accomplish - Business and personal - Short and long term.
- The results you want to achieve - be specific.
- The purpose for obtaining them - the "why" behind the outcome.
- The actions you need to take.
- Deadlines - Schedule it!
Focus on doing a few very well done rather than a lot in a mediocre way
Stop Procrastinating
Tasks – focus on end result not on process.
- Unpleasant tasks: complete them first if possible early in the day.
- Complex jobs: break them down into smaller units.
Indecision – share your goals and deadlines - select an accountability partner.
Why do we procrastinate?
- Fear of failure (or success!)
- Lack of confidence – reason for delay
- Perfectionism
- Distractions
- Lack of interest
- Feeling of anxiety about a project
- Disorganization
Make the New Year where you push beyond what you think is possible to achieve what you truly desire.

Vision – Where Goals are Born
Where do goals come from? And how do we actually make them a reality?
Achievement takes many different factors. But one of the most important pieces of achieving your goals is through visualization.
Goals can only exist through having a vision for the future.
To be able to see the future better than the present, and to create a plan to make it real, takes vision.
- Focus on the opportunities rather than the obstacles
- Commit to your outcome – no matter what!
- What vision do you have for the New Year?
- What do you want to create in the year to come?
- Does it seem a bit too far out of reach? Good!
The sole purpose of goals is not about the actual achievement, but rather growing into the kind of person who can achieve them, who you become in the process.
It’s the timeless saying: “It’s the journey, not the destination”.
For the New Year, set some goals so far outside your reach that you need to significantly grow to achieve them. This is your year, this is your time - make this year your best year ever!

Mastering Time and Effectiveness
For the New Year, strive to spend time on the things that matter to you. Give time to the things that will make you happy. Maximize the time you have and raise your level of efficiency by scheduling your day.
Effectiveness:
- Have a purpose – know your “Why”.
- Focus and then, “Refocus” when distractions come your way.
- Make sure the usage of your time is aligned with your Life Mission.
- Use time productively and efficiently- There are only 24 hours – 1,440 minutes in a day.
- Time is not recyclable, the minute you use is gone forever, use them wisely.
- Group your tasks in categories.
- Break them down into smaller units - manageable pieces – chunking.
- Concentration – do one task at a time, the brain does not multi task.
- Prioritize and Check off accomplished tasks.
- Email: the inbox is not a to do list. File emails in folders for easy tracking.
- Avoid interruptions: most interruptions last 6-9 minutes, it takes 4-5 minutes to go back to the task at hand.
- Focus on the important matters.
- Welcome stress situations and appreciate the learning on them.
Schedule:
- Use an electronic or paper based scheduler.
- Set an action plan - track activities daily / weekly / monthly.
- Schedule time every week for administration.
- Allow some time for the unexpected.
- Set deadlines. Stay on Schedule. Be punctual.
Happiness:
- Maximizing the use of time is the means to a happier life!
- Celebrate your progress- Organize your life to achieve harmony.
- Set time for yourself and your family.
- Take care of your health.
- Spend time with people that make a positive contribution to your life.
- Get rid of the clutter in your house and/or office.
- Get rid of negativity in your life.
- Be Proactive and think positively.
- Forgive so you don’t spend time thinking about grudges.
- Be Grateful.

Set Your New Year Up to Win
Many times, people use the ready, fire, aim method to achieve their goals. This can work in some cases but for the most part, there is great power in establishing a plan before we kick off the New Year!
Be clear about what you want and the results you envision for yourself and others.
Focus on end result/outcome not on process
These are some of the strategies you can use to get yourself ready for the year to come:
Get an Accountability Partner
Finding someone that will hold you accountable to achieving the things you want is one of the most powerful tools there is. Find someone that will push you and encourage you to constantly get to the next level.
Take a Day to Plan your year
It is extremely valuable to take a day to map out exactly how you will get to where you want to go. Plan out the steps you need to take to achieve the things you want.
Get Ready to Mess Up!
Failure is a necessary part of any achievement. When you set out to accomplish anything new, failure is an inevitable part of the process. Find the lesson in every failure you have and become stronger with every setback you face.
Reverse Engineer Your Year
Visualize where you want to be in a year from now. Once you have a clear picture of what that looks like, you can now work backwards from that point. Picture your ideal year, now map out what you need to do to make it happen.
Take it Day by Day
People's biggest problem is they try and focus on everything at once and easily overwhelm themselves. Focus on each day and get present with what you need to do in every moment. Days turn to weeks, weeks turn to months, and months will become a year faster than expected.

Take care of your body
The start of a New Year is always an opportunity to revisit how we are taking care of our bodies.
- Embrace a wholefood, clean diet.
- Sleep well.
- Exercise regularly.
- Hydrate.
- Master your emotions.
To achieve any of our goals, be happier and fulfilled, we need to have health, energy and take care of our emotions. Check our collection of Empowerment Tips at our website www.multi-languages.com for ideas on habits that can help you to move to the next level.
