Soroptimist International of Palm Springs proudly presents the 9th annual LunaFest Palm Springs! LunaFest is a traveling film festival that spotlights the work of a diverse array of talented women filmmakers with intelligent, funny and thought-provoking themes. This is a collection of short films that are by, for and about women.
Soroptimist International of Palm Springs hosts LunaFest Palm Springs as their annual fundraiser. Soroptimist is a global service organization working to improve the lives of women and girls by increasing access to the education and training they need in order to achieve economic empowerment. By supporting Soroptimist and LunaFest Palm Springs, you are supporting local women and girls here in the Coachella Valley.
This year's lineup includes seven short films that will compel discussion, make you laugh, tug at your heartstrings, and motivate you to make a difference in your community. One such film is Lady Parts, a film about a struggling actor who finally gets her big break, only to realize the glass ceiling can also be a camera lens. One of the filmmakers of Lady Parts, Jessica Sherif, will be at LunaFest Palm Springs to answer audience questions following the screening.
