Dear Friend,

I am writing on behalf of the World Federalist Movement – Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP) to thank you for your support, which has enabled us to positively impact the lives of many people around the globe.

In 2019, working through its two largest programs, the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC), WFM-IGP was able to stay true to its Mission of prevention, protection, and accountability for mass atrocity crimes.

Through the CICC program, we were able to effectively amplify the impact of global civil society organisations’ campaigns for justice and redress for grave crimes. In 2020, as we commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the CICC, we are going to prioritize efforts to protect and strengthen the effectiveness, independence, fairness and integrity of the International Criminal Court (ICC). We are excited that on 26 November, Kiribati filed its instruments of accession to the Rome Statute. This was due to your support and our collaborative and impact-multiplying advocacy efforts. On 1 February 2020, the number of States Parties to the Rome Statute will increase to 123 when Kiribati’s accession enters into force.

However, as you know, multilateralism is under serious threat. But this presents us with an opportunity. We are going to redouble our efforts to invigorate domestic and regional activism and constituencies. We are going to work with our partners to push for reforms that will strengthen global governance frameworks and institutions as it is vital that these institutions work for us - the people.

Join the fight for global justice and peace

We are hopeful that this will lead to a world in which all people live peaceful, dignified, secure and prosperous lives in a rules-based international legal order that guarantees every person’s fundamental rights.

These are major challenges. However, with your support, we will be able to redouble our efforts and increase our impact. Thank you again for your support and we wish you a very happy holiday season and New Year.

Sincerely,

Dr Tawanda Hondora

Executive Director

WFM-IGP
