Good Afternoon!

I realize it’s only a few days until Christmas and reading about anxiety might not exactly be “in the spirit” of the holidays. However, for some of you, it may be your primary state of being right now. I know plenty of people for whom anxiety is an annoying feeling that irks them throughout the day. For others, though, it can be so debilitating that it begins to define who they are as a person and what they do.

Why are we talking about this topic now? Well, first of all, I promised a third part to my series on anxiety and depression, so here it is. Second, I wanted to make sure to tell you that there are proven methods to help treat anxiety. In fact, there is one particular treatment that, when done well, can be an empowering therapeutic approach. It’s called exposure therapy and I used it on myself years ago with positive results!

In this week’s blog, “Exposure Therapy: How Dealing with Your Anxiety Through Discussion AND Action Can Work,” I’ll explain this treatment and once again take you back to an earlier time in my life when I struggled with a debilitating issue that I eventually overcame!

We’re Here for You!
We understand that anxiety can be a horrible thing to experience. If you’re living with it and feel caged with nowhere to turn, please know that Rice Psychology Group is here to help! If you would like to schedule an appointment, please feel free to contact us today!

A Friendly Reminder!
Parents, mark your calendars and start the new year off on the right foot! You’re invited to join us at our January Parent Clubhouse to discuss parenting, mental health, what's "normal" in parenting, and causes for real concern when it comes to your kids and their mental health.

Several Rice Psychology Group team members will be on-hand to answer your questions. There will also be group discussions on kids and mental health, as well as the chance to learn more about the child-related services we offer.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, January 2nd at 7:00 PM at our South Tampa location at 312 South Brevard Ave. All meetings are complimentary, and we will, of course, have some snacks on hand! We cannot offer childcare at this point, but we are working on it for future meetings!

All my best...
