Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Here's some of the headlines from the last two weeks to close out the year.

Henry County to repair and reopen Cochran Park

Henry County voted 4-2 (Commissioners Clemmons and Holmes opposed) to repair the stormwater infrastructure at Cochran Park and reopen it for youth baseball. The park has been closed since July due to deteriorating and collapsed stormwater pipes.
The repairs are estimated to cost $550,000 and will be funded through the stormwater account. The park will remain under Henry County's management after the county rejected Stockbridge's offer to assume management through a five-year transition plan.

Henry County Voters

Henry County is approaching 180,000 registered voters. Residents may register online anytime using their driver's license number. More Info

In other election news, the Stockbridge Central precinct has been relocated from Stockbridge Presbyterian Church to the Merle Manders Conference Center effective January 1, 2020. The city of Stockbridge elections have also been relocated to Merle Manders.

Bethlehem Road Interchange

Georgia DOT will be contributing one million dollars to help advance the future I-75 interchange at Bethlehem Road into the design phase. Learn More

McDonough Apartments

McDonough approved a rezoning request to build 260 apartment units on South Point Blvd. The units are planned as part of a luxury apartment community. Keep Reading

The city adopted a six-month moratorium against new applications for multi-family housing to allow staff time to recommend changes to the RM-75 zoning district. Read More
