Spatial Thoughts receives QGIS.org certification

I am really excited to announce that Spatial Thoughts joins the list of a handful of organizations worldwide who are certified by QGIS.org to offer quality QGIS training. Everyone who takes my in-person class from now-on, will have an option to receive an official and employer-verifiable certificate issued by the QGIS project.

QGIS v3 in Mineral Exploration - A User Manual. Grant Boxer, A consultant geologist has developed an excellent handbook for application of QGIS in geology. Do checkout this excellent resource. See Grant's talk about his experience using QGIS.
FOSS4G SoTM Oceania Conference Videos are now available. Lot of really good talks. I would recommend watching Nyall Dawsom's Keynote and Nathan Woodrow's talk on his QGIS journey.
If you are a QGIS and an Google Earth Engine user, you must check out the new Google Earth Engine plugin for QGIS. This plugin allows QGIS to be used as a code editor for Earth Engine and allows you to pull in imagery from EE and use it with local data and create maps. Check-out M D Madhusudan using PyQGIS with this plugin to create stunning visualizations.
If you are interested in AI/ML application in GeoSpatial domain, you must check-out this amazing demo by Descartes Labs showing GeoVisual Search on aerial and satellite imagery.

Workshops and Events

I have started offering regular in-person classes open to public. The first class was on December 14, 2019 at Bengaluru on 'Customizing QGIS with Python'. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and now I am encouraged to offer more workshops on a regular schedule. The full course material for this class is available online!
