2020 Adults and Seniors Programs? Yes we can!

We often receive requests for adult and seniors programs and we have funds to support these requests.  With a couple of volunteer coordinators, programs for adults and seniors could become a reality.

Contact VP@shawneeevergreen.ca to learn more.
Let's work together to make it happen!
Beautification Committee

1/ Who owns the fence on your property? Almost always, you own it and it's up to you to maintain the fence on both sides. Fences that are peeling and falling apart negatively affect your property's value and the value of nearby properties. Where properties are not well maintained, vandalism increases and community pride diminishes. If your fence needs work and you can afford the repairs, perhaps this spring or summer would be a good time to do the upgrade.

2/ Decorative wrapping of garbage bins and utility box is being researched. The image above is an example of a wrapped garbage bin.

Our small committee could do more with your participation.
Email info@shawneeevergreen.ca to volunteer or to provide feedback and ideas
for the Beautification Committee.

SECA has responded to a request from Planning at the City for feedback on the proposed Land Use Amendment that they received from Graywood Developments.

At this time, SECA has not been provided with sufficient information upon which to base a comprehensive or informed response. Therefore we are unable to approve the Land Use Amendment.

Specifically, we do not know:
- what might be constructed on the Graywood site
- if the property will be sold to a third party
- the size of the buildings
- the commercial lighting that may be erected
- the proposed lot coverage and the height of the buildings

Informally Graywood told us that there may be a strip mall, gas station and convenience store nearest to  James McKevitt and that rental apartments may be built nearer to the LRT. A seniors residence of some kind has been suggested for the corner of land backing onto the traffic circle.

It is very likely that a public engagement meeting will be scheduled at some point. SECA will keep residents informed. Our Director of Development, Norm Rousseau is working on your behalf on this file. Feedback may be forwarded to info@shawneeevergreen.ca
