Does "Yom" Always Mean "Day"?

with John C.P. Smith, Theologian

Could Creation Week have been billions of years long? The Hebrew word "yom" ("day") occurs no less than 15 times in the creation account in Genesis 1:1-2:4. Many theologians believe it has a wide range of meanings. Why? How flexible is "yom"? And does it really matter?

The Ice Age is a major mystery of mainstream Earth science, but not to creationists! Evidence indicates that the Flood caused climate change, resulting in an Ice Age that ensued for about 700 years. There was only one Ice Age, and the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets mostly built up during this time.

And you thought that climate change was something NEW?
There are more events here! ...And more videos here!

Normally, MCF's meetings are on the first Monday of the month and the next day -- except around holidays, such as Labor Day. Locations are in Lindenhurst and Carol Stream, Illinois, and we're opening a new third location south of Chicago on October 5, 2019. We do not charge, but a freewill offering would be appreciated, to help with expenses. Everyone is welcome!
