Hi everyone
As we rapidly approach Christmas Day; seeing the evenings lighten up at last; I would like to take this opportunity to wish all members of BD Wales, as well as their families, friends and our sponsors, a Merry Christmas and a very successful 2020.
The past 12 months have been a steep learning curve for me as your Chairman, but it has been very rewarding, particularly meeting members and their supporters at different events across Wales, as well as the team events. I have already ordered my ear defenders for next year’s Youth Team competitions!
I must thank the sponsors who have provided extra funding for us, and a special thanks to all those who purchased items in the recent online auction, we now need to work harder at our fundraising in 2020, to better support the teams and other activities.Talking of teams, the Selection Policies are now confirmed so hopefully many of you will be looking to get the qualifications to submit your names for team selection for 2020, you have nothing to lose by applying for the teams competitions.
If you have ideas of activities you would like to see organised, then please contact either myself or
email Vanessa, so we can look into your ideas. In 2020 we are looking again at the feasibility of Senior Camps, and we will be repeating the Annual Ball which seemed to go down well this November. To improve the communication between the Committee and members, we are planning question and answer road shows in February to brief you on our plans and to hear your thoughts, it is important we have a two way conversation.
I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming months at local events, and of course the Welsh Dressage Championships in May at The David Broome Event Centre, as well as other events. Enjoy Christmas Day, I hope you all receive the presents you wanted, and have a successful 2020 achieving your equine targets and dreams.
Mike Mullis
Chairman BD Wales
