Sending you all many blessings at this time of Yule, the Winter Solstice and Christmas.  Each tradition is rooted in the knowledge that in the northern hemisphere we are experiencing the shortest day/longest night - and that slowly the light is already returning.  In the Christian tradition, Christ was,(and still is) seen as bringing Light to our world; known as the Christ Light in other religions or philosophies His message is one of Love.  It is said in Vedic lore that Jesus is of the same lineage as Krsna (Krishna) and the Dalai Lama - so whilst in many ways we see much darkness around us, there are always those who come to this earth to serve, to remind us of the power of Light, Love and a Higher "something" (whatever that means for you).

In the Celtic tradition we have the various Solstice and Equinox celebrations.  Paganism (derived from the Latin paganus - meaning non-Christian/believing in polytheism and also 'rustic'
), reminds us to celebrate the turning of the year, and all that Mother Earth gives us.  Take away our electricity, heating and easy access to food (for most of us), and we can get a sense of why our ancestors were deeply rooted in honouring the earth, the returning light and how primal that was.  Pure survival.

Take some time...for you.  It is instinctual to slow down and rest now, to be in tune with nature, to turn within.  And yet we can be so good at over riding that instinct.  Whatever your schedule this season, find time to be quiet, curl up with a good book, go for a quiet walk on your own noticing the berries, the full rhynes (in Somerset), feel the rain on your skin, maybe hear the squelch of mud as you squish across fields (that's me and the doglet, covered in mud again!)

And I want to take this time to
THANK YOU!  To each and everyone of you, for coming to my chant groups, the weekly gentle, holistic yoga classes, positive psychology and resilience courses, and one to one sessions.  It is genuinely inspiring to be alongside you and share my current understanding of these varied, yet gently healing modalities.  I learn SO much from you all, and appreciate your support of my work.

I shall leave you with this Blessing - and look forward to sharing time with you in 2020.
