Dear Accounting Society Members,
Hello everyone! The semester is now coming to an end and we would like to thank everyone for participating in our events. We hope everyone's finals went well and hope everyone has an awesome winter break!
The deadline to apply to become a board member has been extended to Tuesday, December 24th at 11:59 PM. We encourage everyone to apply!

To become an inducted member, you have two consecutive semesters to fulfill the following requirements:
- 5 Corporate Events
- 2 General Interest Meetings
- 2 Volunteer Events

Vacant Executive Board Positions

The following Executive Board Positions are open for Spring 2020:
- Executive Vice President
- Vice President of Marketing
- Vice President of Volunteers
- Assistant Treasurer
- Marketing Coordinator
- Events Coordinator
- Secretary
Brief descriptions regarding the role and responsibilities of each position are listed below. You may also view our constitution for a full description of all Executive Board positions here.
OUR APPLICATION/INTERVIEW PROCESS
Please read the Application/Interview Process thoroughly and complete all requested actions. If you have any questions, please contact Esther Wong at evp.baruchaccsoc@gmail.com.
1. You must be an inducted Accounting Society member to apply, which means you have your proof of induction (the certificate) or we have your proof of induction in our club suite. (Note: You do not need to bring this certificate with you to the interview.)
2. For the application, you will need to upload three files: (1) Updated Resume, (2) Spring 2020 Course Schedule, and (3) Spring 2020 Work Schedule (if applicable).
3. The deadline to submit your application is Tuesday, December 24th at 11:59 PM. If you are selected for an interview, the interview dates will be e-mailed to you by Wednesday, December 25th. Interviews will be conducted as a group. Multiple candidates for a position will be interviewed by multiple members of the current Executive Board.
4. If for some reason, you believe that you applied within the deadline date and did not receive any e-mail regarding the interview dates and times, please e-mail Esther Wong (evp.baruchaccsoc@gmail.com) as soon as possible.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Brief descriptions regarding the role and responsibilities of each vacant position are listed below:
Executive Vice President
- Assumes the duties of the President as needed.
- Oversees all duties of Vice-President of External Affairs and Internal Affairs.
- Facilitates the Professional Development Series for the Society.
- Assists the Vice-President of Marketing in promoting the Society and increasing the membership base.
Vice President of Marketing
- Provides public notice of all the regular meetings of the Society through use of the school newspaper, school newsletters, posters, flyers, and other sources of media.
- Coordinates with the Marketing Coordinator, an effective membership campaign.
- Networks with other student organizations and coordinates joint activities with them as deemed fit by the Executive Board
- Works with the Vice-Presidents of External and Internal Affairs in promoting the Networking Luncheon and Induction Ceremony.
Vice President of Volunteers
- Plans and coordinates all fundraisers and volunteer events (walks, cleaning parks, soup kitchen, etc).
- Ensures all proper paperwork is maintained and communicated to the Treasurer and contact is maintained with charitable organizations and Student Life.
- Assists the Vice-President of External Affairs in obtaining and supervising volunteers for the Networking Luncheon.
- Ensures enough volunteer events are created and organized to allow prospective members adequate time to become inducted members (at least 3 volunteer events per semester).
Secretary
- Assists the Vice-President of Internal Affairs in putting together a weekly newsletter detailing all the upcoming Society and non-Society related events and news.
- Maintains accurate records of the minutes of Executive Board meetings.
- Assists Vice-President of Internal Affairs with maintaining complete attendance and membership records.
- Assists in the promotion of the Society.
Assistant Treasurer
- Assists the Treasurer with any tasks regarding the financial and accounting aspects of the Society.
- Works together with the Treasurer to submit weekly financial reports to the executive board.
- Transitions into Treasurer Position in the future (ENTAILS A 2 SEMESTER COMMITMENT).
Marketing Coordinator
- Assists the Vice-President of Marketing with promoting and marketing the Society and co-sponsorship activities.
- Serves in the absence of the Vice President of Marketing.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Marketing on an effective membership campaign.
- Creates flyers and takes pictures for all Accounting Society events.
Events Coordinator
- Fulfills the functions of managing, communicating, and coordinating with the Planning Committee at Accounting Society events.
- Coordinates food arrangement and supply purchases for upcoming events from different venues.
- Retrieves tax-exempt forms for venues of choice for upcoming events.
