The Monumental Chefs have catered staff events and visited local restaurants.

"I love being on the Chef Team because we take trips, learn a lot, and cook all kinds of good food. I plan on staying on the team as long as I can!" says Quincy, a student in the program.
Share Your DC Connects Two Rivers PCS Families from Different Backgrounds

Share Your DC (SYDC), a program at Two Rivers PCS that focuses on connecting the school community through building learning opportunities, follows the school's pedagogical approach. This program gives parents the time, space and language to challenge bias and bridge differences. This three-session session expedition helps participants articulate their own identity, listen to others share theirs, and build connections through having tough conversations. Surveyed results show that participants of SYDC expedition realized some of their own biases and how they can unintentionally pass along those biases to their children. As a result, SYDC alumni have intentionally integrated their kids’ playdates, exposed their families to traditions of different faith communities, and read books that expand their appreciation of local landmarks and history. These small, but concrete, steps help keep biases in check and help fortify the Two Rivers’ community network-wide.

Sela PCS Expands Its Hebrew Immersion Program

Starting next school year, students at Sela PCS will have two teachers in each classroom, one who speaks English and the other will speak Hebrew. School leaders believe this change will provide students opportunities to practice the Hebrew language and learn more about the culture from native speakers. Parents at Sela PCS are excited that they will have Hebrew and English teachers working alongside each other in the classroom to teach them proficiency in both languages simultaneously.
