Dear friends,

A quick update from us to wish you a blessed Christmas.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our Croese loved ones at a friend’s home in Arkansas.

What a privilege it has been for our Laura and Samuel to continue singing with the children’s choir at a large sister church. This year’s Christmas concert was, once again, very beautiful complete with a full orchestra, organ, and the adult choir.

As I look back on this year, my biggest highlight has been working with Aziel. She is from Venezuela and now lives in Argentina. She took the linguistic training to be a Bible translator that SIL offers in Lima, Peru. One day she hopes to serve with SIL. Her heart is with the deaf people who need their own Bible translation in sign language. Though we’ve never met in person, it’s been a joy for me to interact with her and collaborate on translation issues. I’ve learned a lot about translation work this year and have a new appreciation for Bible translators. It’s tough work.

In last month’s update we mentioned a prayer request that is close to our hearts – for Felix who runs a Bible School in the Peruvian highlands. He needs computers so the teachers can prepare materials. José and I are grateful that this need has been met! Generous donations came in which exceed the initial bare bones amount that they had hoped to receive. José will now be able to better equip Felix and his team to serve the Lord and share His love with the people of Peru.

Our current prayer request is for our son, Samuel who is 8 years old. He has been struggling with anxiety for the last two months. This has been very difficult to navegate. We’re making slow progress. We’d very much appreciate your prayers for his heart and mind.

May we all keep our eyes on Jesus and remember His promises to never leave us or forsake us.

If any of you local friends (or from wherever) need a place to hang out on Christmas Day, feel free to come our way. You don’t even need to call ahead of time.

We send our love,

Lisa & José - Laura (11), Samuel (8), and Ruthie (4½)
