With the Atlantic Cup fast approaching and interest in competing at an all time high, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish all members of the Class40 family a very happy holiday!
We'd also like to draw your attention to the first amendment to the Notice of Race. The amendment relates to the Atlantic Cup schedule and the moving forward of the first offshore leg from Charleston, SC to New York.
In order to ensure an achievable schedule and secure the integrity of racing in the Atlantic Cup, the Organising Authority has made the decision to move the date of departure forward from June 10th to June 5th. While the OA is aware it creates a tight turn around between the finish of The Transat and the start of the Atlantic Cup, teams are to be reassured that the OA will allow for Transat competitors to prioritise boat work over other non-racing related Atlantic Cup events.
Section: 5 of the NOR is amended to read as follows:
June 1st - 4th Charleston Compliance checks
June 2nd Charleston –– Kids Day
June 3rdCharleston –– Start Party
June 4th Charleston –– Skipper Meeting

The Atlantic Cup is the longest offshore race in the Western Atlantic with over 1,000nm of ocean racing, and also the U.S.’ only short-handed offshore race dedicated to the Class40. The Atlantic Cup was created in 2011 to showcase short-handed, offshore racing with hard fought competition and exciting shore based events, while also being the most environmentally sustainable sailing race in the United States. The Atlantic Cup has been carbon neutral since 2012 and was the first sports event in the U.S. to be ISO 20121 compliant.
The Atlantic Cup is committed to being the most environmentally responsible sailing race in the United States. Teams, participants and race management work together to create an event that is carbon neutral and ISO 20121 compliant. As the race grows, we will continue to seek innovative ideas and products that align with our mission and produce a truly sustainable event.
