Dear <<First Name>>,
Here we are Christmas Eve for another year. I am off to sing with my choir at the Anglican Cathedral. Christmas Carols from 9-10pm. It is usually standing room only and so good to see the Cathedral packed to the gunnels. People get a chance to belt out well known carols that have been sung for centuries and as a choir we add 4 part harmony with we sopranos adding descant for carols like Silent Night. The Cathedral is decorated with heaps of lilies. Midnight Mass is just lovely with the only lighting - candles - but I no longer stay as it is just too late getting home if dinner has to be seen to next day.
If anyone reading this is from the Hamilton area, I recommend attending, at least to the Carol Service at 9pm - 10pm. There are usually lots of children and it really is a nice beginning to Christmas, away from the malls and supermarkets, 2 dollar stores and 70% off, not to mention fighting for a parking place. I am sure you all have stories about parking! I do!
New this week
We will talk about new fabrics in the New Year. We have had some wonderful collections arrive and if you are calling in as you travel, do ask us to show you. There is one linen from Japan that I am so excited about. . . .
Have a very happy Christmas and do start a new project. Our thoughts are with those who have suffered loss with the White Island disaster and also with those families in Australia suffering loss with fires. My son and family in the Adelaide hills evacuated as fires drew closer. Another son and family, driving from Melbourne to Adelaide last Friday showed outside temperatures as they drove approaching 50 degrees. Fry an egg on the footpath!
Here is our Christmas photo this year where you can see all the faces of the team!
Until next week,
Hazel
