For many people, the young and the old alike, Christmastime fills the heart with childlike wonder and peace more than any other time during the year. In fact, it isn't unusual for many of us to wish this feeling could last all year long. And because of YOU - our volunteers and donors - we can be God's hands and feet, bringing hope and light in Jesus' name to children and families throughout the DFW Metroplex all year long. We mean it when we say "TOGETHER, we are making a difference!" And so we pause to say THANK YOU and to let you know what you've made possible by partnering with Food for the Soul in 2019. We also invite you to get involved, as there are many ways we can partner with individuals, families, churches, and corporations to fight childhood hunger.
DID YOU KNOW Food for the Soul is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means all your donations are tax-deductible? Make your donation by December 31 to ensure that it can be deducted on this year’s taxes.
Your tax-deductible donation will help provide meals and snacks to children struggling with hunger through our Backpack Program. Through the generosity of donations like yours, Food for the Soul has already provided more than 3 MILLION meals and snacks to children in North Texas. Your charitable contribution helps provide so much more than food however, it provides hope to people facing hunger.

- Food for the Soul brought the Backpack Program to 7 school districts in the Metroplex – Arlington ISD, Dallas ISD, Denton ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Irving ISD, Keller ISD, and Lewisville ISD;
- We provided 2000+ vulnerable children with backpacks filled with six hearty meals and four kid-friendly snacks to eat every weekend;
- We provided two football teams in Oak Cliff – The Sunset Bison and the JK Kimball Knights – with hot meals before their games each week. Altogether, 220 high school students benefit from this program;
- We provided food for a summer pantry to feed the 220 football players in Oak Cliff;
- We partner with Gateway Grand Prairie Church to feed 15 homeless high school students Grand Prairie ISD and provide them with a clothes closet;
- We provided 1,500 homeless neighbors in Fort Worth with Thanksgiving dinner;
- We wrapped 30,000 Christmas gifts to children in need;
- Food for the Soul has provided more than 3 MILLION MEALS and Snacks to children!

Our goal this year is to secure 1,000 monthly donors to help us feed the growing number of children waiting to be enrolled in our Backpack Program.
It only takes a few minutes to set up a recurring donation online. By doing so, you will help guarantee that when a child shows up to receive a complete meal bag of food on Friday, he or she won't walk away empty-handed. It doesn't take much, but it does take YOU! Even a recurring gift of $5 a week ($20 a month) will go a very long way in fighting childhood hunger.

Why do we ask for help feeding these precious children? Because with your help, we can buy food when they can't. At 18%, Texas has a statistically higher food insecurity rate than the national average. There are so many children who need our help. Food for the Soul's Backpack Program gives free meals and snacks to food-insecure children every Friday during the school year.
