News on Building Expansion/Renovation of the Club.
Work in progress.
It has now been some 6 months June 2019 at the AGM since we displayed potential drawings of the Club extensions. No doubt you will all be wondering how we are progressing with this project. Both Brian and I along with Bob and Peter have attended on the average 2 meetings a month which has involved representatives of KCDC and our direct neighbours. To date we have found that the input from all participating parties that we are getting closer to singing off the same song sheet. It has been a long and laborious task but one which will benefit the next generation of members going forward.
In short our current lease of 30 years will need to be renewed once we have agreed with KCDC (the council) and our neighbours that the expansion (new footprint) will get the green light. A new foot print means we have to get a new amended lease.
Changes in the current footprint will see WBC taking over the space occupied by the public toilets (which will be our responsibility to relocate somewhere near by on site. We will have to cover the cost of this relocation) A large area of space from the public toilets has been gained here for WBC.
We are also in the negotiation stages of having the Coastguard shed relocated on the northern side of the building next to the sand dunes.
As soon as a ‘near as plan’ has been completed we will put it all on display in the club for perusal along with computer profiling of the building.
We haven’t forgotten you.
In the meantime we wish all a Merry Christmas and safe boating.
Graeme, Brian , Bob and Peter
