Happy New Year!
We hope everyone's 2020 is off to a good start. Even though June seems like a long way away, the planning for the Chesapeake Open, June 24-27, is in full swing. In addition to freestyle, dance (partner and solo) and showcase events at all levels, including Adult, we are excited to announce the return of our Basic Skills competition. We hope to have many members competing. This will be our 25th anniversary year and we are planning some special surprises for this year's event.
The Chesapeake Open is our only fundraiser of the year and we need the help of all of our members to make the competition a success. We need volunteers for setup, ice monitoring, running, hospitality, awards and breakdown. As the date draws closer, we will post the volunteer sign-up online.
Good luck to Ryan!
Ryan Dunk will compete this week in Senior Men at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Greensboro, NC. We are very proud of him and wish him the best! The Senior Men's short program will be broadcast live on NBC TV on Saturday, January 25, 2:30-4:30 PM, and the free skate will be broadcast live on NBC TV on Sunday, January 26, 3-6 PM.
