Volunteer to count birds during the Denver Urban Christmas Bird Count - and get a great seed deal from FRBC!

A holiday tradition – everyone welcome: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. The more eyes we have, the more birds we see. And we like to encourage people to get involved. Start the New Year with a half day or whole day effort – a good way to start 2020!

The count area for this effort is a circle with a 15-mile diameter that includes the Platte River from north city limits to Mississippi, west to Buckley Field & Rocky Mountain Arsenal.

To receive 50% off two 20-pound bags of your favorite birdseed from FRBC, you must pre-register on Denver Audubon's website for the January 1st Denver Urban Christmas bird count. Click on Denver Urban count, then on the area you wish to help cover to pre-register.

Notes:

  • Offer is only valid for the January 1 count
  • Offer valid at Front Range Birding Company's Littleton or Boulder stores
  • You must sign up through Denver Audubon's website
  • Offer ends January 31, 2020

Thank you for helping birds and science!

FRBC-Littleton "1st Saturday" Bird Walk for January:
Harriman Lake with Chuck Aid on January 4th, 2020

This month we will visit Harriman Lake, a 70 acre lake located in Littleton.  The trail around the lake is a little under 1.5 miles.  Harriman Lake is a great place to look for waterfowl and raptors, and the small size of the lake makes it possible to get good looks at the birds in the water.

We will meet at the FRBC-Littleton store (10146 W. San Juan Ave, Suite 110, Littleton, CO 80127) at 7:30am for our Birder’s Breakfast (featuring Birds & Beans “bird-friendly” certified coffee) and then carpool to Harriman Lake. We will return by 12pm.

Be sure to dress in layers for the weather and bring binoculars and/or scope, water, snacks or lunch, and sunscreen.

Please call the store (303.979.2473) to sign up. Limit is 15 participants. Preference will fall to those meeting at the store but any open spots can go to folks wishing to meet at the site.
