The Weather Outside is Frightful...
But We're Still Gardening!

With temps dropping, you might be wondering what we do in the garden. Thanks to generous donations from our supporters, we take the garden to the classroom in the winter months with our rolling tower gardens!

The towers allow us to keep programming robust year round by providing fresh produce indoors, using only water and nutrients- no soil! This innovative technology supports our STEM garden program and allows students to interact up close with the life cycle of the plants they grow. Throughout the winter months, students are growing greens and herbs on the towers and get to decide how they want to use the produce – salad party, smoothies, or a pizza party!

Winter After School Programs
The towers aren't the only thing happening in the winter, our after-school programs also run year-round!
Jr. Horticulture Club is an after school program serving 3rd thru 6th grade students. Our kiddos learn about making healthy food choices, food prep, cooking and floral crafts. They are also introduced to career opportunities in the fields of horticulture, agriculture and environmental science.

Rainbow Readers is an after school program serving prek-2nd grade students. Garden themed story books set the stage for activities and lessons around plants, food, and nature. Children are introduced to healthy food options and locally sourced produce; the life sciences, language arts and social studies. And… WE EAT a RAINBOW!

Our garden is ALIVE during these winter months, but we need your support to keep it GROWING!

Help us provide an extraordinary learning experience for our kiddos where they apply the math, science, and reading that they are learning in the classroom to hands-on lessons in the garden.
