Hello, if you are new here I'm Sharie Giles. I am your local insurance agent. I have been a licensed insurance agent in Utah for 25 years! I am happy to assist you with any health or life insurance needs. I am the second generation agent owner of my agency. As an independent insurance agent I’m proud to be able to serve you and offer you a variety of carrier options in Utah. Open Enrollment is over for 2020 plans! But OEP is HERE...


If you made changes to your plan & coverage, your new policy starts today January 1st and will run through the calendar year 2020. You will receive a new ID card with your 2020 plan. Some of you received duplicates just make sure it has the updated 2020 information.

What is the Medicare Open Enrollment Period? (OEP)  beginning January 1 - March 31, 2020. Not to be confused with the Annual Enrollment Period October 15 - December 7, 2020, the Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP) allows you to make a one-time plan change.

You can change from one Medicare Advantage plan to another Medicare Advantage plan. You can also leave a Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare (and a Part D drug plan). Want to schedule a time to meet? Email me and let's get you on my calendar.

How to add an authorized representative
 

Would you like for a family member or caregiver to be able to call Medicare on your behalf? Medicare can't give your personal health information to anyone unless we have permission in writing first. There are 2 ways to give permission:  

(1) Print and fill out form CMS-10106: "Authorization to Disclose Personal Health Information" and then mail it to us.

OR  

(2) Submit the form online with a Medicare account. 

Don't have a Medicare account yet? Signing up is easy and gives you electronic access to your health information. Once you've signed up, fill out and submit the form online by following these steps:

  1. Click on your name in the top right corner of the page.
  2. Click "My account."
  3. Select "Manage my representatives."
  4. Click “Medicare Authorization to Disclose Personal Health Information form." 
  5. Enter the requested information and click the "Continue" button.

Stay Healthy in 2020!


Nobody tries to get sick. And yet, about 10 percent of Americans get the flu—and the accompanying symptoms of cough, aches, and fatigue—each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

As we age, we need to make more of an effort to stay well. Adults 65 and older are more susceptible to the flu than younger folks, so taking precautions is important.
