Students are welcome, too, and could receive a few volunteer hours.

    • Confidentiality and your rights

Interested parents or caregivers should complete an application on the LEAH website by January 8, 2020, at 6:00 pm. Applicants will be selected for phone interviews by January 24th. The first meeting will be Monday, February 3rd at Seattle Children’s.

Reminder: Please make sure that your child meets immunization requirements to avoid school exclusion on January 8, 2020.

All students (ages 3-18) can get vaccinations at any pharmacy, health clinic, or any of the 28 school-based health centers. On December 27 and 30 (10:00 am to 3:00 pm) at Aki Kurose Middle School, students can get free vaccinations without proof of insurance or citizenship thanks to Kaiser Permanente.

For more information, contact school nurse Meg Carlson RN at 206-413-2507 or https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/health_services/immunizations.

MEET KATIE HATHAWAY!

Q&A with Katie Hathaway:

What is your preferred name and pronouns? My preferred name is Katie, and my pronouns are she/her.

What do you do at Lincoln? I teach Spanish; this year, I teach levels 1, 2, and AP.

At what other schools have you worked? In Seattle, I have worked at Roosevelt and Garfield, and then I have also taught at two middle schools in Tucson, AZ.

What traditions or personal touches are you bringing to Lincoln?  This year at the Homecoming assembly my classes danced to one of the songs we sang in class, we practiced for a few weeks, and all of my classes could participate. I would love to continue to do this once or twice a year. It brought a lot of people together in a fun and creative way.

What's your favorite memory of high school? I attended Roosevelt High School, one of my favorite memories from high school, would be when I won the consolation final (9th place) at the state swimming championships in the 500-yard freestyle.

Thank you, Katie, for sharing with us!
