Our supporters helped us fight and publicize attacks on science in 2019. Among our accomplishments:
- We offered a near-record number of free legal consultations to scientists and provided pro bono legal aid to others, including Maria Caffrey, a former National Park Service climate scientist who lost her job after refusing to censor her work.
- We examined how science is faring under Trump and found the federal government attacked science 249 times — roughly once every four days — during his first 1,000 days in office.
- We added to our resource library, publishing guides that cover how to advocate for science in a politicized environment; how to serve as an expert witness; and what researchers need to know about the scientific integrity policies at the EPA, NOAA, and other key federal agencies.
