Members of the Charlotte County Democratic Party and Indivisible SW Florida will peacefully demonstrate against Republicans’ blatant disregard of their constitutional oaths. One of our two major political parties is whitewashing the presidents’ crimes; GOP senators have already announced they will violate their solemn pledge and refuse to even consider the evidence against President Trump.
“Failing to formally impeach this president would invite foreign intervention in the 2020 election and set a dangerous precedent,” said Charlotte County Democratic Executive Committee Chair, Teresa Jenkins. “Our democracy is in danger if this behavior becomes the new normal.”
President Trump’s lawless obstruction of the House of Representatives has demonstrated brazen contempt for representative government. “He does not enjoy absolute immunity, which is a fictitious doctrine that, if tolerated, would turn the president into an elected monarch above the law,” she said.
