Join us for mulled wine, tree decorating & great company!

Join us on the 19th December at the Orchard on the Greenway as we celebrate the last years achievements before we close for the holidays. Please come along between 12-2 & bring food or drink to share, if you can. We will be making decorations along with the Green Gym volunteers from foliage gathered in the Orchard & recycled paper chains to hang in the trees. Hope to see you there! If you have any questions please email ros@plaistowsouthbiglocal.org.uk

A huge thank you!

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Bernie & Team from tRiio/Cadent Gas limited who have supported The Green Gym Volunteers after a recent attack of vandalism at the Orchard. The Gas company who have been working on-site supplied materials & help lay a wider, more accessible pathway and are helping us to obtain secure storage.
We can not thank them enough. People + kindness can make so much possible.

Concerned about Youth Violence?

On 4th December the first Community Conversation was held at The Mix Youth Club to discuss concerns around Youth Violence and problems our young people face. This was facilitated by Community Resolve & Conflict & Change in partnership with REIN ( Rights & Equalities in Newham) and PSBL. Several People attended either the afternoon or evening session discussing their concerns and what needs to change as well as thoughts on how to make these changes.
The next Community Conversation will take place on 30th January 2020.
PSBL are currently funding a pilot project provided by REIN to create a network of safe Zones within our Community as well as workshops & stay safe assemblies in local schools. Music workshops are also being delivered at The Mix.
Wreath making, Recycled paper chains and decorations - its beginning to look like Christmas!

Wonderful local businesses came together this month to help us deliver FREE Christmas workshops to our community.  We would like to thank the Green Gate café for hosting, Christmas tree pastries & yummy cookies & Sewells and Abbi florists for their kind donations.
We were taken back to our blue peter days making door wreaths, decorations and even recycled paper chains made from old newsletters & leaflets. Fun was had by all!

Money Know How!

Money A&E recently delivered a Money Know How course at Tollgate Primary school funded by PSBL.
Attendees learned about financial terms, universal credit and engaged in healthy debate on what we should and shouldn't prioritise when spending!

Small Change, Big Difference!

The staff team at PSBL attended the 'Small Change, Big Difference' event hosted by Groundworks. We meet some wonderful people doing great work in their local communities. After the event we managed to connect some Newham groups with the Felix Project who provide 'good food for good causes' by distributing food waste to food banks and organisations.
"Together, anything is possible!"
