Hi Gina, here's a sample of an email that I sent to KCC singers recently. Depending on content, they can take a while to put together, but I've gotten faster as I get used to it, and its dependent on what you want to put in by way of gathering the details, and illustrating/backgrounds/style etc. But the really cool thing is that you can copy and edit a previous newsletter, so once you've built the first one, subsequent ones are pretty straightforward.
Anyway, if you want to do a v.c. some time (Skype? Zoom? Messenger?) I can share screens and show you how its done!
Hi everyone! In this email:

PERFORMANCE AT CHARLES FLEMING
"They absolutely loved our concert, cheered them up no end"
Thanks to our singers who came to entertain the folks at Charles Fleming Retirement Village on Sunday. We had some very positive feedback from the residents: they enjoyed the variety and new songs we brought to them, and there were several highlights, including Sumer is Icumen In and Veluma Masina (which drew an emotional response from a few audience members). Some would have liked one or two better-known songs to sing along to, and we ran through a couple of more traditional numbers last night to add to our repertoire for Coastlands next week. Always good learning..
GOODBYE PARAPARAUMU SCHOOL HALL
We had our last night at Paraparaumu School on Tuesday - we've had some fun times there... next year we'll be meeting same time same day but in the hall of Kapiti Uniting Church in Raumati. We'll send you all the details at the beginning of next term.
CHIRSTMAS PARTY!!!
The new date and time for our barbecue party at Adrienne's house is on Sunday from 4pm. Her address is 96 Arcus Road in Te Horo. All KCC singers are welcome to come, bring partners/friends of the choir too. Please bring something to drink, something for the barbecue, and a side dish (salad or a dessert). Ukuleles welcome!
Directions: Heading North on SH1, turn right into School Road (signposted lavender farm & cooking school) past the community hall on your right, and take the next left into Arcus Road. Adrienne's driveway is at the end, number 96 - drive past the first house on their property, to the main building, where there's parking. Her phone number is 021404044
15th December, 4pm onwards
SINGING AT COASTLANDS
Our last sing for the year will be at Coastlands on Tuesday 17th December. Meet inside the mall near to Robert Harris (entrance near Farmers) at 5.45pm. We'll start singing at 6pm, 15 minutes in this location and then over to the Christmas tree by Life Pharmacy for a second set. Then probably back to the first location again. Over to The Refinery in Kapiti Lights for a drink afterwards as an optional finish to the year.
17th December, 5.45pm onwards
ADDED SONGS FOR COASTLANDS
Please remember to bring your song books if you're singing at Coastlands on Tuesday. Our two new songs are We Wish You a Merry Christmas and Deck the Halls. We'll bring a few extra word sheets on Tuesday, but I've added the lyrics to the dropbox with all the other files HERE. And I did an audio file of the harmony for Deck The Halls too!!
CHRISTMAS CAROLS 24TH DECEMBER
There are a number of public events where you can participate in singing Christmas carols on the Coast this year. In particular, we've been invited to sing at an event in Waikanae Beach on Christmas Eve. There will be an artists' Christmas tree in the park opposite Tutere Gallery, and Rosie Salas from KCDC is organising some community carol singing "just the usual standards". If enough of our choir are in attendance they'd welcome a song or two from our repertoire - but we can just see how many are there on the day.
24th December, 4-5.30pm
