As schools close for the end of the year break, Leap of Joy is wrapping up 2019 with a Kid's Day Out happening today, Dec 20th! Then we'll be taking a small break to spend time with our families before hitting the dance floor again in 2020. Stay tuned!

Today Only: Kid's Day Out Winter Adventure!

Come join us at the High Road on Dawson TODAY for Kid's Day Out! This is a new event for us, and we're very excited about it. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., we will be hosting a slew of fun activities for kids: from holiday-themed movies, games and crafts to a hot chocolate bar (YES, that's right!!) and ornament making and MORE!
It's going to be a TON of fun! You can drop off your kiddo for the entire day for $45, or just for a bit, at $10 an hour.
This is a great opportunity to have someone else watch the kids for a bit so you can get things done...let them get some of their energy out while you wrap gifts, take a nap, or throw a party finish your shopping. Ahem.
Again: High Road on Dawson, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. $10/hr or $45 for the whole day.

Caps & Mittens was a Success!

Our annual Caps & Mittens campaign is finished and Leap of Joy spent this week handing out gift bags to all of our kiddos. We raised $1400 this year, which is incredible! With this much money raised, we were able to bring gift bags full of winter goodies--scarves, hats, gloves, plus a little toy and some candy--to all of our students this year.
Thank You to every single person who contributed to this project. It means so much to us to have donors like you. We strive at Leap of Joy to help the less fortunate children here in Austin, and every donation helps bring that goal a little closer. You can rest this holiday season knowing that you've helped brighten the lives of some of our local children.

We visited schools this week, delivering our Caps & Mittens gift bags. The kids really loved getting all their winter goodies...and we couldn't have done it without all of you wonderful people!

Season Greetings from Judy
The fall semester went by rapidly and along the way we managed to add new classes and wonderful teachers. We met lots of parents and kids through our booth at Austin Kiddie Limits, giving all of our 270 students gift bags from our Caps and Mittens Campaign and we are closing out the year with a day of magic for the kids who come to our Winter Adventure this Friday.
So with all that being said, and with a vision of great things to come in 2020, we wish to thank all of you who have supported us and our kids in so many ways. I want to thank our board members and friends who have volunteered their time and energy.
May this holiday season be blessed for you. May you experience the Joy and Spirit that brings friends and family together with love and good cheer.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. Let's make a plan next year to make the world a better place.

ACC Dance Practicum
It's official: Leap of Joy is partnering with ACC's Dance Department to provide a practicum course! These talented, hand-selected students will gain real-world teaching experience by assisting in a Leap of Joy class for a semester! It will all lead up to our Care to Dance Recital on May 3, 2020. We can't wait to help inspire the next generation of dance and theater teachers in Austin!

You Asked for It...Saturday Classes!

Saturday classes are happening!
For the first time ever, Leap of Joy will be teaching classes outside of our school program. We are beyond thrilled to partner with Headwaters Schools to secure a facility for our Saturday morning dance class!!
Classes will be held at the River Campus on Rio Grande Street. We'll be teaching Jazz and Hip Hop techniques for ages 7-14, working toward a performance at our annual Care to Dance Recital in May. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Starting January 1st!
Leap of Joy is pairing with Home Slice Pizza for a three-month-long fundraiser!
Starting on January 1st, visit either Home Slice location (South Congress or North Loop) and perform the specified task--and Home Slice will donate a portion of your sales to Leap of Joy!
How it Works:
Each month has a theme. Perform the specified actions for the month and Home Slice will donate 10% of your food bill to Leap of Joy.
January: Jazzersize! Burn calories AND donate to a good cause! Perform any sort of athletic feat--jumping jacks, running, or even your best Flashdance moves to qualify for donation!
Febuary: Dessert First! They always say life's better when you have dessert first; order dessert as an appetizer in February to qualify for donation! (Single cookies not included. They didn't specify about the married ones.)
March: Bust a Move! Challenge your friends to a quick dance-off to qualify for donation!
