B&NES Christmas and New Year Opening Times: Dentists, Opticians & Pharmacy

Opening times for local pharmacies, opticians and dentists in B&NES will be slightly different over the Christmas holiday break.

Make sure you know where you can go to get the support you need and try to pick up your repeat prescriptions as early as possible.

Stopping the spread of Norovirus

Christmas is just around the corner, which means the season of giving is upon us. But the one thing nobody is hoping to receive this festive season is a nasty bout of norovirus.

Often referred to as the winter vomiting bug, norovirus is a particularly nasty illness that can spread unbelievably quickly at this time of year.

Get involved in research
Are you aged over 50 and interested in vaccinations?

Researchers at the University of Bristol are looking to work with a group of public contributors on research projects linked to vaccination in older adults.

Their research aims to improve the health of older adults through producing better evidence to influence vaccine decisions.

COPe Research Study 

Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is promoting two important research studies: 

COPE-Support: providing peer support, information, and coping strategies to promote the wellbeing of families and friends of individuals affected by psychosis, schizophrenia or manic-depressive / bipolar disorder.

Participants will be paid £30 in total for their time.

GLAD Research Study 

Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is also promoting: 

GLAD: The Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression (GLAD) Study, led by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Mental Health BioResource and researchers at King’s College London, is a project that aims to better understand depression and anxiety in order to find effective treatments and improve the lives of people experiencing these disorders.
