Your Agency Relations Newsletter (YARN) A Newsletter for Agency Partners Jingling All The Way
Seasons Greetings & Happy New Year From all of us in the Agency Relations and CSFP Department. We're so honored to work with such an amazing network of partners dedicated to ending hunger in their communities!
The work of ending hunger is challenging, so sometimes a confidence boost is easier said than done. Click here for a fun, really short video that includes 3 tips for boosting confidence. In addition, click here for How to Build Confidence from the Harvard Business Review and click here for 10 habits to build confidence at work.
With the new year upon us some of you may be considering budget and fundraising plans. Click below on the topic of your choice to help get started or spur new ideas.
Solving food insecurity will require communities to go beyond food. This resource (click here) uses data to address the root causes of economic distress and helps to provide counties with data about their food insecurity levels, identifies collaborative opportunities for intervention, and groups counties by shared challenges. Provided by the Urban Institute.
Meet the new Food Rescue Fleet manager, Corey Kluever. Some of you may remember Corey from his days as a food rescue driver. We're excited to have him in this new role. Click here to learn more about Corey.
This past summer, we held focus group discussions with agency partners throughout the service area to gather feedback on the way we communicate about hunger and the joint work we all do. Read the reportand learn more about next steps. With your help, hope to create a communications guide that will influence how we talk about the joint work we do publicly and internally. Ideally, all of us will have better, less stigmatizing language to use about hunger and the people we serve as well. Contact Jennifer for more info:jsheda@2harvest.org.
Banner Agency featured above is River Falls Community Pantry. In October, the pantry moved to their new location in a new building one mile away from the old store front on Main Street. The new 5,200 square foot building will allow more families to receive critical food items, allow the food shelf to accept more donations, and provide space for the new Food Education Room where cooking and nutritional classes are being given. Pictured is Candice Anderson, executive director and the only paid staff. Find out more click here.
