Merry Christmas from the team at 100% Renewables

As the holiday season is upon us, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year and those who have helped to shape our business. We have had a great year and hope that 2019 has been just as memorable for you, your colleagues and your loved ones. We look forward to working with you in the years to come.

Last week, Paddy and I had an opportunity to get out of the office and to visit sites in Temora and Cowra to evaluate efficiency and solar PV opportunities. As part of this work, we are helping a not-for-profit organisation called CLEAN Cowra. CLEAN Cowra is looking to establish a local, innovative energy generation project that will create and use renewable biogas to generate clean energy, provide heat to local manufacturing industries and create saleable green gas, as well as a range of other environmental and business benefits.

More and more organisations are considering committing to a science-based goal and for the first time, the SBTi has released a progress report. To reach ambitious goals, many organisations look to purchase renewable energy via Power Purchase Agreements. Recent renewable PPA deals include the Cities of Newcastle and Sydney.

In other news, ARENA will provide funding for research to find innovative ways of reusing, repurposing, and recycling used solar panel components into new panels. This is important as more and more rooftop solar PV is reaching the end of its life.

100% Renewables will be taking a short break over the Christmas period from 23 December to 5 January. Normal office hours will resume on Monday 6 January 2020. Wishing you and your family an enjoyable and safe Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
