FRIENDLINESS
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hi Team
It was great to see the fantastic presentation of all the classrooms for the start of the year and I really appreciate the hours of work staff have put in at the start of the year.
Our collective focus is on settling the students into classes and reinforcing the basics around rules and transitioning throughout the school. To support the settling in process we can prioritise having year level assemblies throughout this week at a time that suits teachers.
We also are not going to inundate staff with memo items this week preferring to send another memo out later in the week if required. An Operational Briefing will be offered to all staff in Week 3.
WELCOME (Left to Right)
Rosie Connolly - Year 3 Room 43, Mel Cross - Year 4 Room 30 and Emma Lightly - Year 1 Room 11
Thanks, Dale
STAFF CHANGE OF DETAILS
If you have any change of details - e.g.: Address / Car / Mobile Number or anything else you can think of, please let the front office know of these changes, so that Integris can be updated.
STAFF BADGES
If your badge needs to be replaced due to damage or loss please let Sian know by Tuesday afternoon at the latest so she can include yours in her order Sian.Keys@education.wa.edu.au

DAVID OUR WONDERFUL GARDENER
Just a quick reminder if you would like to request a job for Dave to do, please send an email to Sharron.Procter@education.wa.edu.au rather than going direct to Dave.
He is getting a little overwhelmed with odd jobs around the school and we must remember he isn’t always able to do some jobs due to health and safety and also because he just doesn’t have the time on top of his gardening, which comes first. Thank you
Thank you, Sharron
LIAISON PARENT REPS
Teachers, now that you have your new class lists please start thinking about identifying a suitable parent candidate for your 2020 Liaison Class Rep. Often parents who have previously been a rep are happy to continue in the role (please see me if you need to know who they are).
Please email me their name and preferred email address vicki.roberts@education.wa.edu.au as soon as you know who it is.

PERMISSION NOTES
The office staff will provide the appropriate updated forms for required permissions:
FORM 1 Local Excursions, Internet Use and Viewing Consent
FORM 2 Photo Permission (for those who have not completed a form)
FORM 3 Year 5 only - Tablet Use Permission
Please return ALL permission forms to the office for entering in to integris, then we will provide a printed checklist to keep in your classroom.
Many thanks Vicki R
THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING THROUGH PLAY PL
Thank you to everyone who participated in our session. As a follow up from the session on Thursday about play we have created a folder in google drive. Located in the folder are some readings on the topic and a PowerPoint from the session.
The following video, play based learning and the Early Years Learning Framework with Lennie Barblett is available using the link below.

IKON Link: Understand play-based learning in the early years

Thanks, Kaye and Cailie
