What kind of world do you want to create? What kind of Jewish community do you want to be part of? And, during this time of Hanukkah, what kind of light shines from within?

For a century, Reconstructionist Jews have not only been asking those questions, but building Jewish communities that reflects our highest ideals.

Nearly 100 years ago, Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan published an essay called “A Program for the Reconstruction of Judaism” that gave birth to a movement, Reconstructionist Judaism, that has introduced profound innovations in Jewish life.

Today, Reconstructing Judaism, the central organization of the Reconstructionist movement, continues to define Judaism’s cutting edge.

We build participatory communities united by a common purpose: nurturing a more just and compassionate world. We train religious leaders for tomorrow, support summer camps that model diversity and inclusion, strengthen our member congregations that impact countless lives, connect people to face the challenges of our day and share ideas and values in the public square.

Simply put, Reconstructing Judaism helps people lead more meaningful lives.

As we approach year’s end, make a statement about your values, about the kind of world you’d like to see, about the ideas that matter most to you.

Consider making a gift to Reconstructing Judaism. Every gift matters. The task ahead is formidable: We need you as a partner.

Make a gift today

Thank you for the light you bring to the Reconstructionist community and wider world. Happy Hanukah!
