All Things Majestic

by Jennifer Higdon

A Note from Concertmaster Holly Mulcahy
How does one describe a mountain range in music? Composer Jennifer Higdon took a hike through the Grand Teton National Park’s back country several years ago to find inspiration for a musical portrait. You can listen to small details and step back and hear big phrases in her work All Things Majestic, just as you would look at small details and big mountains in the Grand Teton Range.

What is Sound Post?

Presented by the Wichita Symphony and Concertmaster Holly Mulcahy, Sound Post is an online monthly space where listeners are encouraged to share thoughts and impressions on music they might not have otherwise encountered. Think like a book club, but without having to coordinate schedules!

Sound Posts occur monthly, so to be sure to join our Sound Post Facebook Group or update your email preferences to receive Sound Post updates. September and October Posts are live, so pour a glass of wine, grab a pet for snuggles, or put on some headphones while you make dinner. Happy listening!

One More Note
