JAZZ BANG 8-10 MAY 2020, SYDNEY.
Hey friends!
Here is the news:
1. Jazz BANG 2020 is ON and it will be on 8-10 May 2020 in SYDNEY.
2. There will be at least 2 streams of WORKSHOPS - balboa and lindy hop.
3. The balboa TEACHERS are Laura Keat and Jeremy Otth (USA) and the lindy hop teachers are Jenny Deurell and Rikard Ekstrand (Sweden).
4. The bands include Kate Wadey and her Presidential Gentlemen, and Andrew Dickeson's Jazz Family Band. And MOAR, yet to be finalised live jazz.
5. Registration will open in 2020, probably around early April.
NEW STUFF?
You told us in the 2019 surveys you wanted more balboa-appropriate music. And by balboa-appropriate, you mean FAST and HOT and FUN.
Got it. The Jazz Family Band will return with the vibes and clarinet and the Benny Goodman inspiration. We will sort out the sets and make it good for balboa.
Don't panic lindy hoppers and slow dancing fans. We will keep you happy too. TRUST US.
You've also told us you wanted more musicians in class with us. Oh yes, that pleases us, too. We'll see what we can do.
OLD STUFF?
The 2019 survey gave us unanimous votes for keeping the history performances and talks, and a LOT of requests for more of this stuff.
YOU BET. We love these little shows too. And we promise they will stay short, they will feature live music, and we will make the teachers dance dance dance for your entertainment.
Except in the talking panels, then we will watch video clips of other people dancing.
