To <<First Name>>,

Since this is a new year, I thought I would google “2020 HIV” to see what came up.
It was an interesting collection of items. There were a number of links for conferences happening this year. The WHO have declared the new decade a time for “disease elimination” and there is news that China is using HIV drugs to treat the Corona virus.
High up in the search was a page from the USA Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. This describes the USA HIV strategy. One of the 3 goals is “reducing HIV-related disparities and health inequities”.
This is a decent description of the work that we do at the Sussex Beacon. Every service user that we work with experiences “disparities and inequities” as a result of their HIV status and we are here for them – to provide support and care to manage these challenges.
In the coming year we will continue to provide our essential services and to develop new capabilities to meet the challenges our service users are experiencing. We will further develop our work on ageing and HIV and resources to combat frailty.
This year we will also be refurbishing our building and refreshing our fundraising approach to ensure that we will be here for the hundreds of people who look to us for help each year.
Thanks for all you have done for us so far. We hope to take you with us through 2020 and that you will continue to provide us with your invaluable support.
