2 NEW PERMANENT COURSES

New permanent couresare now open at Shepherds Hill Recreation Park.(see article on website) Thanks to Adrian Uppill for his work in setting up these courses. Go to DIY Orienteering for more information on this and all the other courses. An ideal activity for the school holidays.

3. Coaches, Helpers, Managers wanted

Orienteering Australia has a number of positions that we would like some help in filling. Are you someone who would like to help our future young Orienteers? OA has four Squads, in which there are two Junior Squads, those that are ready for major competitions, and those that we believe are for the future. These squads are the 'Junior Development' and 'Targeted Talent' squads. We also have some teams that go overseas each year, whether it is NZ for the NZ v Aus test matches, or to Europe for major Championships. For this to happen, we need helpers, coaches or managers. What about next time you head off Overseas, you spend a week or so of your time, helping future Orienteers achieve their dreams. If you can help out in any way possible, please contact OA Head Coach, Jim Russell on headcoach@orienteering.asn.au and see if there is a position that suits you

4. DECEMBER NEWSLETTER PUBLISHED

The December OSA newsletter has been published here. It is another bumper and varied edition, and should not disappoint.

There are summaries of results of SA and Australian foot orienteering and MTBO championship events held over the past three months, articles on awards presented to SA orienteers, an article on the pre-Australian life of our coach-in-residence Evalin Brautigam, an article that describes where to find World Cup 3 and 4 finals videos (WC4 videos are especially interesting to watch), four articles on orienteering maps and features, including a very amusing link to a video that shows different methods of crossing fences, a history of the early days of orienteering, including the similar activity of letterboxing ........ and there's more. So please enjoy, and have a happy holiday while you are doing it.
