With its swaying coconut palms, shady trails in overgrown rubber plantations, rustic roads, secluded beaches and flourishing mangroves Pulau Ubin feels like you've stepped back into 1960s Singapore. In fact the slow lane starts as soon as you join the queue for the bumboat at Changi!
Our guide Ed will point out areas of particular interest, especially wildlife. We will also look at the historical significance of the area.
From "downtown" Ubin, we'll take a van to Chek Jawa wetlands to walk along its beautiful boardwalks to the Tudor style visitor centre. After an approximately 3 hour walk, we will enjoy refreshments on the island before heading back to town.
