Data Science Bootcamp
for better research
Harvard DataFest is a two-day event held during J-term and developed by data practitioners and researchers from across the university. Hosted by the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS), the purpose is for participants to develop skills in working with data. It is structured around the data lifecycle with included lectures and hands-on sessions focused on data concepts, project planning, data science workflows, processing and analysis, and data dissemination.
Countway Library and Data Management Working Group
The Countway Library partners with the Data Management Working Group to conduct workshops aimed at educating researchers in data management best practices. Members of the Longwood Medical Area are featured guest presenters, and new topics are constantly introduced. See upcoming winter seminars.
HMS/HSDM Office for Postdoctoral Fellows
Timely and practical programming is available for HMS/HSDM postdocs. Curriculum enhances postdoc’s research skills, career development, and social and personal skills while addressing specific issues of early, mid, and late career trainees. Harvard Chan Bioinformatics Core (HBC)
HBC runs multiple workshops for the Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) and on-quad HMS researchers, as well as monthly trainings for all researchers at Harvard University and affiliated institutions. Workshops cover a variety of bioinformatics topics & related skills. Review their Spring 2020 schedule and pre-requisites.
HMS Research Computing
Members of RC teach classes year round. Classes include an introduction to the high-performance computing environment, O2, as well as introductions to a variety of programming languages, and version control tools. Find past class slides & up-to-date class information.
