Hello friends-

With all the terrible things going on it's a bit hard to get in the right headspace to start this year off with the drive and optimism that we were all hoping for. Like many of our friends and peers, we're all trying to figure out what we can do together as creatives in terms of trying to balance our sincere wishes for peace and safety alongside our drive to make a living with our unique gifts and abilities, and the systematic change that needs to happen to make this a sustainable reality.

For me, there's a healthy amount of distraction going on, while at the same time doing whatever small and big gestures we can to be a force of kindness and compassion in whatever way possible.

This week, we've put the regular Jacky Winter social media feed on hiatus in order to help amplify our artist's messages of support and fundraising for the Australian Bushfire Crisis.

Through Lamington Drive, we are also running our own fundraiser which you can find the details of Here. For the next four weeks, 100 percent of the proceeds from our Risographica stock will be donated to a different charity each week. For the rest of this week, we'll also be throwing in a free print with each order.

Until then, we've been collecting the tributes and fundraising efforts of our artists and colleagues, some of which you can find below.

Until next week, stay safe and walk lightly.

The Gallery

Lamington Drive is an exhibition space, art school and a great way to meet other artists. Feeling lonely? Come to a show!

Mascots

Cat Rabbit, known for her plush characters who inspire good feelings, and Andrea Innocent, known for her character design and emotive illustrations – have come together to create a series of ‘Everyday Anxieties Mascots’.

Each mascot supports a particular feeling, mood or anxiety produced by modern living and the human condition. The characters act as a sort of talisman to the anxious and the introverted – to those who find the world overwhelming and confusing at times.

The Gardens

Clear the mind. Feed the process. Jacky Winter Gardens is a creative retreat nestled in a half-acre of natural bushland only 45 minutes from Melbourne. It’s a perfect getaway for solo travellers, couples and small groups.

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
